Exquisite extremely rare antique French Pillivuyt porcelain decorative piece was used as a butter pat, pin tray, or bonbon dish, measuring only a few inches in diameter. The center boasts a vividly painted bouquet of mixed flowers, including roses, chrysanthemums, and forget-me-nots in a rainbow of colors, encircled by a pale blue swirled background adorned with intricate gold filigree and tiny green vines. The dish's rim is elegantly scalloped and edged in gold, giving it a luxurious, antique charm perfect for display or light use as a jewelry tray, tea bag holder, or decorative accent. The base bears the mark "Pilivuyt La Porcelaine de France," confirming its origin from the esteemed Pillivuyt factory. In great vintage condition, this piece embodies early 20th-century French elegance and craftsmanship.
Measurements: 3 inch diameter, so a very small dish!
Fun Facts: Pillivuyt was founded in 1818 by Louis Charles Pillivuyt in Mehun-sur-Yèvre, central France, making it one of the oldest continuously operating porcelain factories in the country. This places the dish in the early 20th century, likely around 1900-1930, during a period when Pillivuyt was producing more decorative, hand-painted items alongside their utilitarian whiteware.
