Pre-Pyrex Corning Opalware 5 inch Black Striped Cereal Bowl- Little Joe Glassblower Backstamp-

2 vintage Corning Opalware cereal bowl from circa 1920-1936, predating Pyrex branding on milk glass tableware. Features "Little Joe" glassblower logo backstamp with " Corning" 15. This 5 inch diameter bowl has an opaque white body with striking black stipes Made of heat resistant opal glass. Made during the acquisition of MacBeth-Evans Company, whose glassblower trademark, Little Joe, was adopted for these rare items. Initially developed for the military messware and restaurant/hotel settings. The OVENWARE on the stamped logo was meant to emphasize their strength and oven-to-table versatility usage. Early opalware used numerical stamps to refer to the capacity rather than batch identification as later Corningware and Pyrex did. Shows authentic vintage wear around the base of the bowl but no cracks.
