This charming piece is a vintage footed bon bon dish (also known as a candy or trinket dish) from the Lancaster Glass Company, produced in their "Kay" pattern (line 868). Dating to around 1943, it's a quintessential example of elegant depression-era glassware. The soft blush-pink hue, often called "rose pink" or "blush pink", is a hallmark of Lancaster's sought-after color palette. The intricate etched floral design features delicate scrolls, blooming peonies and leafy motifs that wrap around the bowl, adding a touch of Art Deco-inspired femininity. The three-toed footed base provides stable elevation, while the two graceful loop handles (bow-tie style) make it easy to pass around at gatherings.
Measurements almost 3 inches tall, 3.5 inches in diameter and a total width of around 6.25 inches across the handles..
Care Instructions: Hand Wash Only
Use Mild Dish Detergent
Fun Fact: Lancaster Glass, based in Lancaster, Ohio, was renowned for its mold-etched patterns rather than simpler pressed designs, and the Kay line was produced in limited runs, making pieces like this relatively scarce today. This pattern was part of Lancaster's line of affordable yet refined tableware, aimed at middle-class households looking to elevate everyday serving with subtle luxury.
