This beautiful vintage 7-inch KAPYATΙΣ Caryatid is a hand-finished white alabaster statue replicating the legendary female columns from the Erechtheion temple on the Acropolis in Athens. Elegantly carved with flowing drapery, serene facial details, and an ornate capital balanced on her head, she bears the authentic “KAPYATΙΣ” etching on the front base the Greek identifier for this iconic maiden figure. Fun Facts: Greek "Kapyatie" Caryatid alabaster statue of the famous Caryatid (female column) figures from the Erechtheion temple (Porch of the Maidens) on the Acropolis in Athens, Greece, dating back to around 421 BC. The word KAPYATΙΣ, It’s a transliteration of the Greek term Καρυάτις (Karyatis), the singular form of “caryatid.” Some sources interpret “Kapyatie” in this context as meaning “carved in stone. Many mini statues were made as tourist souvenirs in Greece or Cyprus in the mid-to-late 20th century.
